ABOUT US
HISTORY
The Asian American Pacific Islander Coalition was first established in the 2012-2013 school year. It was originally founded on the pillars of Unity, Education, and Advocacy and with the purpose of uniting various AAPI student organizations at San Diego State University. With the help of AAPI student leaders who saw a need for more representation and unity, AAPIC reestablished in Fall 2018 as a Recognized Student Organization on campus. It is back once again and is here to stay - with a new consitution and updated pillars. Although some changes were made since its predecessors were in leadership, the main vein of AAPIC's purpose remains the same.
MISSION
The purpose of the Asian American Pacific Islander Coalition is to spread awareness of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community at San Diego State University. The member organizations come together with one common goal in mind: to unite and strengthen the API community on campus. This coalition of API organizations is founded on the pillars of Advocacy, Education, and Intersectionality. These pillars are integral to bringing about equity and solidarity within the SDSU community, uniting the various API student organizations on campus.
